  1. SpamFryer.yam is a spam filter for YAM, based upon SpamFryer.rexx.
  2. Checks through emails in a folder and moves the unwanted ones.
  3.  
  4. Usage: Rx SpamFryer.yam [<foldername>] [NEW] [UNREAD] [ALL] [SILENT] [QUIET]
  5.  
  6.  [<foldername>] - The folder you want to scan. Current folder is default.
  7.  [NEW]          - Switch. Default. Process all new messages in the folder.
  8.  [UNREAD]       - Switch. Process all unread messages in the folder.
  9.  [ALL]          - Switch. Process all messages in the folder.
  10.  [SILENT]       - Switch. Suppresses the rules reports.
  11.  [QUIET]        - Switch. Suppresses everything except errors.
  12.  
  13. If both [UNREAD] and [ALL] are omitted, only new messages are processed.

  15. Example: Rx SpamFryer.yam Incoming ALL SILENT
  16.  
  17. By default, the script moves junk mail to the 'Deleted' folder, but you can
  18. change it to any folder of your choise, using the 'configuration block' at the
  19. top of the main script.

  21. If you have not configured your folders with full path, you will need to make
  22. sure the script is started from your YAM directory, or else it will fail.
  23.  
  24. For help with customisation of the rules, please refer to SpamFryer.text.

  27. If you want SpamFryer.yam to automatically check all new mails, then start
  28. YAM, go to 'Config/Arexx/After getting mail' and enter the following...

  32.  [v] Open console window
  33.  [v] Wait for termination
  34.  
  35. You must naturally change 'YAM:Rexx/' to whereever you keep the script.
  36. The 'QUIET' switch is of cause optional.

  39. One known problem, is that the script may process very slow and may cause the
  40. scanned folder to scroll up and down in an ugly way, if you keep many emails
  41. stored in it. Sorry about that.
